Hot Foot Bath

 


Hot Foot Bath (पैरों का गरम नहान)
(For fever 30-40 minutes, keep drinking warm water at same time, no cooked food, no animal products as ayurvedic sansar.)
If steam bath is not possible, hot foot bath gives same benefits.
Introduction:  this therapy can be givendisease above the waist, .

Tools:
Small cotton cloth, blanket, big and small bucket, one mug, one small towel, one small chair, raxine/plastic cover, hot water, cold water, clock
Water temp- 104-115 °F summer , 115°F - 120°F in winter. 40-42 ° C
Principle:
This therapy decrease blood pressure above the waist and increases effects of blood to bring towards leg.

Technique:
If enima is necessary, provide enima first.
Keep kambal and chader on chair in a way that patient can sit on it and wrap the patient by it. Then wrap with  chadar.  According to weather , patient isgiven water or open cloth and make patient sit on chair. Now tolerabe warm water is kept to keep feet of the patient. Water should be just below the knee. Body of patient wrap first chadar (चादर), and kambal , they should cover water. At last blanket is covered raxin cover. Wet patient with cold water and keep wet small towel on head. To maintain temperature of hot water, keep hot water on the bucket with mug after few moments. According to need, time and again cold water is to be kept on head. If thirsty give water to drink. After therapy, immediately patient should take bath or rub by wet towel and wear cloth.

Duration : 15-20 minute in summer. Winter 20-30 minutes.
(If you have fever then time 30-40 minutes)

Action - reaction

Blood capillaries expand in leg. This flows blood towards leg and blood prassure above waist lessens. Difilements mixes with blood and leave its original place.
When shower with cold water blood flow become intense in whole body. This makes defilements to reach exrecatory organ and repease.

Contra-indication:
Ulcer, fever, hiper acidity अम्लपित्त, unclotrolled high or low bp, internal bleeding, hysteria, nervous weakness, skin diseases, burn or cut wound, loose motion.

Precautions
1) Maintain same level of temperature of water uniformly.
2) keep water carefully so that it won't burn leg
3) Keep head uniformity cold.
4) Give honey water for very weak
5) If patient feel dizzy, release lef from water and spray cold water to patient.
6) Be careful for too high or low bp
7) If necessary, enima in the beginning.
8) Give water if thirst
9) Don' t do during fasting.
10) It can be given twice a day in patient needs.
